Wesołych Świąt!

This year we spend Christmas in the States.  This time there are three of us, and we celebrate in our new house. We have quite rainy and windy weather – apparently even colder than in Poland 🙂

We did not go crazy on house decoration, but were did purchase a beautiful Christmas tree in the nearby Whole Foods.

Spending Christmas abroad is never the same as at my family town, especially since no one around prepares for the evening meal on the 24th.  Most of my close ones spend this special time in another time zone, and to make things even more nostalgic, my package from Polish Santa did not make it on time. Luckily I was able to greet my parents through Skype.

So to have some tradition at our Christmas table, we supplied with products from Polish Deli in San Francisco. We also had some beetroot soup and uszka prepared by befriended Lady from Krakow and my home-made vegetable salad.

Befor the supper, we attended a family Mass at a nearby Catholic Church. There was a nativity scene played by kids, and the priest asked to help the Syrian refugees.

And tomorrow, for Christmas Day, Dean will serve some holiday dishes.  He plans a cooked ham, pineapple, Brussels sprout, mashed potatoes, apple pie, and cranberry sauce. After all that eating we hope to make it to a park, for Rosie’s favorite swing.

After singing a couple of christmas carols, we watched little bit of the Christmas edition Peanuts story: A Charlie Brown Christmas.

Happy Holidays!
